DEF will begin to crystallize at 12°F. DEF will not be harmed if it freezes and then thaws and will not separate or lose its strength. In warm temperature regions it is recommended to store DEF in a shaded area. In cold temperature regions heated tanks and supply lines have been designed to freeze and thaw DEF with no performance issue.
